Holy smokes. Was walking down Parsons Blvd for some lunch and saw the grill parked - then the smell hit me! For just $15 I walked away with practically three meals worth of jerk chicken smothered in sauce and Mac and cheese. Definitely at least two thighs, part of a breast and three drum sticks. Fall off the bone tender and moist. Some of the most delicious chicken skin I've ever eaten. Very nicely spiced, not too hot at all. Speaking of heat, the temp of my carry away container was piping hot. Extremely delicious and I feel so lucky to have accidentally walked by it. The gentleman who assisted me was really sweet, too. He was fielding a lot of questions from passerby's while he served me. Impressive multitasking!
Whether at the restaurant, Forever Jerk near JFK Airport in Queens, NYC, or on the side of a random street in the boroughs, their jerk is one of the best in the city. Load it up with sauce. Jerk sauce is a bit spicy while the q sauce is sweet. Meat falls off the bone. We typically get a half or full chicken. They'll chop it up with a cleaver. Finger licking good! We love stopping by their tent and smoker setup on the way back from Gateway shopping, the beach, or the restaurant coming or going to 5 towns Costco. For the street side locations, the lines are frequently long, cash only, and they make to order. It's fun watching them smoke or grill the food. Typically standing only... and take out. Absolutely delicious food, this is a gem in the neighborhood. I was greeted by a very friendly and energetic young lady. She took my order a Jerk pork and a jerk chicken meal. Both were perfect juicy, tender meat with the subtle taste of smoke. This is a mild but flavorful jerk with the slightest kick. I added their sweet and their jerk sauce. So why the 4 stars? 1- they ran out of 2 of their 4 sides 3 hours before closing. 2-the restaurant could use sprucing up. 3-there's no parking.
Excellent Jerk Pork! Hot & delicious. Definitely adding them to the lunch rotation. Will definitely be back.
First-time ordering from here, I had a Groupon, so I decided to stop by. Quick friendly service, I ordered a small oxtail rice and peas, no vegetables. The food is hot and fresh, a nice amount of oxtails usually other places give you more rice than meat. I will definitely order again.
